Copy carving began in 1976, with hand operated machinery.
To quote John Davies from this era:
"I see no point for highly skilled craftsmen producing piles of shavings on the floor when a machine can perform the same process more efficiently and cost effectively - the carver completes what the machine cannot"
Robotics and the new millenium
In 2003 the company invested in the world's most technically advanced "Robot copy carving machine" to further extend the company's capabilities whilst preserving the highest quality of work with a greater ability to deliver on demand.
Despite today's modern technology, it is still the craftspeople who ultimately make the Company, and it is by their various skills and accumulative knowledge that quality and finish is maintained.
