Our frames could be seen recently in the background of award winning Olivia Coleman drama The Favourite, set in Queen Anne’s Court of the early 18th Century. These included frames produced for the Raphael Cartoons at Hampton Court Palace which can be seen more clearly in the photograph below which shows the scale of the frames in the context of two of our craftsmen. The seven images measure approximately 319cm x 399cm each and are framed in gilded reverse bolection frames.

The second photograph below shows the appearance of another John Davies frame, this time in a scene filmed at Hatfield House. The painting of a female nude, titled Bathsheba Observed by King David by Massys appears in the background in a 13.5 cm wide GN cassetta frame produced in 2007.
