John Davies Framing was honoured recently to be asked to provide a number of frames for what has been described as “the most important single owner collection of Impressionist and Modern art offered for sale in London for a decade.”

The Hidden Treasures sale at Christie’s Auction House in London included 21 painting lots, of which John Davies Framing made frames for 20. The frames were all gilded, ranging from simple styles to ornately carved.

The works framed by the company included Renoir, van Gogh, Degas, Monet, Matisse and more. Some of these paintings had never been seen in public before.

The auction on the 27th February raised a total of £50,552,001, with the highest price reached for a painting by Cezanne (framed by John Davies Framing) which realised £21,203,750 including buyer’s premium.
